The Scout Uniform

The uniform is the Scout's identification with the brotherhood of Scouting and should be worn with pride. The uniform makes us visible as a force for good and creates a positive youth image in our community. The uniform symbolizes our committment to the aims and purposes of Scouting.

There are two types of uniforms for Troop 1188; Class A , Class B.

The Class A uniform consists of the official Boy Scout shirt along with a Boy Scout or plain hat, bolo tie and earth-tone jeans. The jeans will be neat, clean, and not torn. For Star and above a merit badge sash is included. Official shorts or pants, and socks are optional. The Class A uniform is required to be worn:

bulletAt designated meetings and functions
bulletDuring travel to and from all camp outs
bulletTo all Boards of Review and Scoutmaster conferences.
bulletTo district, council, and national Scouting events
bulletTo other events as specified by the Scoutmaster.

The Class B uniform consists of a Boy Scout or plain hat, a Boy Scout T-shirt and blue jeans. The blue jeans will be neat, clean, and not torn. The Class B uniform is required to be worn to all Boy Scout events when not in Class A

Clothing items that promote sports teams, alcoholic products, gangs, drugs or contain inappropriate language are never permitted at any Scouting event. Boy Scouts are not a military unit. Camouflage attire is not permitted. Parents are urged to direct their son to follow these rules.

The required insignia on the official Scout shirt is as follows:
