Boy Scout Leader Fast Start Training is now on the Web!

bulletScoutmastership Fundamentals (Adult Leader Training, ALT) is the basic training course for ALL registered Boy Scout leaders. Interested parents are also welcome. Troop 1188's policy is that ALL Adult Leaders should attend ALT. The course covers the organization of a Troop, the Patrol Method, and other important aspects of a Troop including Advancement and Youth Protection.

bulletYouth Protection Training is a vital portion of the BSA training program. It teaches how to ensure a safe Boy Scout program and what to do if an adult leader suspects a boy has been abused. Youth Protection Training is often included in the Scoutmastership Fundamentals (ALT) course.

More Adult Training

 

SPECIAL   TRAINING   DAY   FOR   CIRCLE TEN SCOUTERS

Consistent with BSA's concern for the safety of its members, an afternoon of four training sessions for certification is being offered at the Northlake Community College Aquatics Center on the afternoon of Sunday, March 9, 2003 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Training will be offered for:
SAFETY AFLOAT
 
YOUTH   PROTECTION
SAFE SWIM DEFENSE
 
GUIDE TO SAFE SCOUTING
 

The cost is $5.  

You can participate in all four sessions or choose just one. (We hope you'll do four!)
Bring or wear your swimsuit. Registration in advance is encouraged.

Youth Training

Oak Leaf Skills is the first course for training Boy Leaders. Boys are shown how a model Troop works are taught how to fulfill each leadership position in the Troop. The requirement for attendance is second class rank.

The next Oak Leaf Skills course will be held on March 21-22, 2003 Click here for details!

Golden Acorn is the advanced course for training Boy Leaders. Boys are taught advanced leadership skills at a week long course during the summer. The requirements are age 13, 1st Class Rank and graduate of Oak Leaf Skills. Click here for details!

Den Chief Training is the training for Boys desiring to be Den Chief. A Den Chief is a Boy Scout who assists Cub Scout Den Leaders in carrying out their program.
